COLOR WASH This technique uses thin washes of color layered to produce transparent effects and textures. 
POSITIVE DRIP MARKS This technique has drip marks running down the face or sides of the painting. They can be either transparent (subtle) or very opaque (obvious) drip marks. 
MEDIUM TEXTURE BASE This technique uses a less noticeable texture approach. The canvas has a smooth surface with occasional palette knife marks. 
SHAPES This technique uses gel texture to create geometric shapes in the painting. |
DRY BRUSH This technique uses a dry brush with small amounts of paint on it to get a wispy or chunky affect to the color overlays. 
NEGATIVE DRIP MARKS This technique has drip marks running down the face or sides of the painting. Rather than adding color to the painting, they remove the darker color, revealing the lighter color below. 
HEAVY TEXTURE BASE This technique has a very noticeable texture of sand or granular material or just pronounced palette knife marks. |
